The much talked about venture by the National Award winner, Srijit Mukhopadhyay has now reached the corners of the velvet curtains. After some weeks past the trailer of the movie, what we have come across is the musical anthem launch of Rajkahini Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata . In this piece, I would draw an unbiased conclusion of such a creation and also, relating to the curse of land division, or perhaps known as land partition.
What the lyricist has done dates back to the era which witnessed all such events and hence, the director has tried to present it from his point of view, at least that’s what it seemed to be. You know what’s more significant in this theme song, it’s never the antique essence associated with it but the composition brought to life once again or enthused to life in a manner that echoes the issues of partition and stand up against dominance of the colonizers and the same have inspired to pen this paper. The video starts with Kabir Sumon, an exploration to the stratum of Playback singing by the director and had been utilized to its zenith in Jaatishwar, marks off the composed battle strongly. Apart from this, participation includes, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Rupankar Bagchi, Lopamudra Mitra, Rupam Islam, Babul Supriyo, Sraboni Sen, Siddharta Sankar Roy, Srikanto Acharya, Anupam Roy, Annwesha, and Indraadip Das Gupta
Concluding the whole song, it is worth saying that rather than highlighting highly on the colonizers or presenting the Britishers as supreme powers in re-gifting independence, the song stresses more on the bravery of the Indians who possess their own fate; hence, except God and self-confidence, no one else has been presented at the granter’s end who might hold the right to alter the fate to a brighter future for the Indians. A pleasing render of interpretation! Perhaps, the musical trailer of the epic drama.
